Children's Author
Davina is a much-loved rhyming children’s author, who is celebrated not only for her picture books, but also for championing diverse children’s literature.

Davina is an internationally celebrated children’s author of the rhyming picture books, Riley Can Be Anything, Riley Knows He Can, Ella Has A Plan and Riley Finds His Beat.
The books’ titular characters are named after her children, Ella and Riley, who were the catalysts for Davina making her foray into the world of children’s writing in 2017.
As an author, she has been featured by publications including BuzzFeed, HuffPost and Made For Mums, as well as multiple BBC regional radio stations, and TV networks including London Live and Television Jamaica (TVJ).
Davina’s books have been embraced by parents, reviewers, educators – and most significantly, children – worldwide, and have also gained celebrity endorsements from talents including Charles Venn, Jason Derulo, David Ajala, Robbie Gee and Joivan Wade.
An exciting and engaging author, Davina has delivered readings and workshops for numerous schools and literary events, and has shared her expertise with organisations and events including BookTrust Represents, The London Book Fair and the storytelling workshop, Shakespeare’s Telling Tales.
Additionally, in 2024, Davina was elected as a committee member for the Society of Authors’ (SoA) Children’s Writers and Illustrators Group (CWIG). An active member of the SoA, her role on the CWIG committee sees her participating in events, collaborating on campaigns and generally assisting in raising the profile of children’s books.
As well as promoting her own books, Davina is an ardent champion of fellow Black children’s writers and has been praised for the innovate ways in which she highlights diverse children’s literature.
